Sometimes, it takes the worst in humanity to bring out the best in people. In the days following the horrors of the Virginia Tech massacre, the bereaved have united behind stories of heroism. Dr. Liviu Librescu's particular act of selflessness - holding the crazed gunman back while his students escaped, before he himself succumbed to the murderer's bullets - is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, and gives us inspiration in this time of grief. I know I'm probably going to catch a bunch of crap for saying this from the vast emo population on this campus, but at this point, I don't even care. I think it needs to be said: Fry Street as we know it is going away and it is not coming back. And it's about friggin' time, too. (124) comments
Because of the unfortunate events that occurred at Virginia Tech yesterday, the Daily, as they should, contacted President Bataille and questioned her about the measures that should be taken on our campus in the event of an attack. Her response, needless to say, was alarming, and furthermore, I found it completely inaccurate. (5) comments
