    Denton honors Women's History Month

    In 1987, Congress declared March Women's History month to honor and commemorate prominent women in history. Peggy Capps, Denton Historical Commission chairwoman, will be talking about many important women to the Denton community at noon today in the Courthouse-on-the-Square. (0) comments

    The new film "21," will hit theaters March 28. Based on a true story, a group of MIT students form a blackjack team and train to become experts in card counting. The film's star, Jim Sturgess, who plays mathematical genius Ben Campbell, talked to the Daily about this movie, as well as his rising career. (1) comment

    Each day during the month of March, the Botanic Garden and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas are putting on an exhibition featuring the release of 2,000 tropical butterflies per week into the Fort Worth Botanic Garden conservatory.     Burgundy's may have a chic atmosphere and an impressive wine and cocktail selection, but, unfortunately, great value isn't on the menu at this Denton steak and seafood restaurant. We visited this upscale eatery at 222 W. Hickory St. with intentions to treat ourselves to a high-class meal, but we left disappointed and each about $35 poorer. (4) comments

    The Dallas Museum of Art offers the chance for artists at all levels of experience to improve their artistic abilities with free instruction from professional and practicing artists every week. The museum offers free sketching classes called "Sketching in the Galleries" for members of the community. (0) comments

A Rockwall native with no formal musical training, Castro auditioned for American Idol in Dallas and has climbed his way through the competition, securing a spot in the top 12 contestants.
