The three-story house where Delta Lodge fraternity members used to party the night away became vacant in May 2007, and the Campus Christian Center bought the legendary party house in December. Delta Lodge was one of the oldest independent fraternities in the nation and became known in Denton for hosting the Fry Street Fair, an annual music celebration of local bands as well as nationally known acts. The Legends and Puppies Tour of 2008 came to Dan's Silver Leaf at 103 Industrial St. at 8 p.m. Saturday. Former Texas governor candidate and musician, Kinky Friedman, headlined the tour. The Texas Poet Laureate Steven Fromholz and his sidekick, Little Jewford, raised money for the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch. (0) comments
"WALL-E" captivates its audience by transforming a lifeless box of gears and gadgets into a lovable anthropomorphic creature full of passion and courage. WALL-E is the only robot left on a deserted, polluted and dirty future Earth. While the humans spend their days living on a space station, WALL-E is responsible for cleaning up the dirt and dust left behind. (0) comments
"Wanted" is a 110-minute test of suspension of disbelief. For anyone else who was, like me, fooled into thinking it would be a serious action flick, it does, in fact, have all the cheese that can be expected of a comic book movie.
