After the Real Estate Club's officers and adviser missed a mandatory orientation for on campus clubs, student services coordinator Brooke Carter told the club president that it would not be considered an official NT organization during the 2008-2009 school year. A commemorative statue now stands in front of Willis Library to pay tribute to NT students who have died. Created by alumnus Jonathan Snow over a four-year period, "The Sustaining Arch" sculpture was commissioned by the Student Government Association in 2004 and built in late September between two live oak trees that form an arch of their own. Previously, students had 10 languages to choose from at NT - now they have 11. Portuguese was added this fall after student interest and some open cash in the 2008 budget allowed it to get on the schedule.
