NT's Career Center will be conducting a career search seminar today from 4 to 5 p.m. in the University Union, room 411.
Kelly Flanagan, with Texas Financial Group in Dallas, will be speaking. She is the campus recruiter for the Washington Financial Network and will be giving students tips on what to do and things to think about when searching for a good job.
"There are four main points to the search process: self-assessment, interviewing, networking and prioritizing," Flanagan said.
Career Center officials hope this seminar will make it easier for students to not only look for a job but get the one they want.
This will be the first time for Flanagan to conduct this seminar, but she has been to NT before to recruit students.
The Texas Financial Group has come to NT and other campuses around the Metroplex many times in the past to talk to classes.
"We hold a seminar every semester, but occasionally we will get a guest speaker like this," said Dee Wilson, associate director of the Career Center. "We are hoping all goes well and that Kelly will come back to speak again."
If students are interested in attending the seminar, they should contact the Career Center at (940) 565-2105.
Flanagan said she hopes students will leave the seminar with a better understanding of the job search process.
"If they use this they will be successful," she said. "They will learn stuff they didn't know before."
