Sophia Bush recently found herself dangling out of her boyfriend's car window at speeds of up to 90 mph.
However, it wasn't really her boyfriend or his car - she was only acting in her newest role as Grace Andrews in the re-make of the 1986 thriller, "The Hitcher."
The Daily had the opportunity to speak with the star about her role, her love for dangerous stunt work and her post-"Hitcher" plans. Here's what she had to say:
Q: The film is about hitchhiking. Have you ever hitchhiked or picked anyone up?
A: "I never have and I probably never would. All it takes is that one time to pick up the wrong person, and when you read the statistics, it's just not worth it."
Q: Did you have to do any physical preparation for the film?
A: "My preparation for each project is different. Not only was it emotionally grueling, but we spent five days a week training with fast cars and handguns. We were beaten half to death every day."
Q: So you did your own stunts?
A: "I'm a total stunt junkie and that's where my tomboy comes out. I did about 90 percent of [my own] stunts in the movie."
Q: Where did you film?
A: We did six weeks in Austin and six weeks in Santa Fe, N.M. We did voice-overs in Texas and I had already seen the movie, but whenever something happened, I'd scream. Then it'd be like 'I'm such an idiot - I knew that was coming.'"
Q: "The Hitcher" is a re-make. Are there any other movies that you'd like to re-make and act in?
A: "I wouldn't really feel right answering that specifically. There are some that you keep in the back of your mind and just hope it works out. I didn't even know the movie was a re-make at first so I went out and bought it, but I couldn't watch it. It's still in its plastic wrap because I didn't want to feel like I was walking in someone else's shoes."
Q: What are you going to take away from this experience?
A: "This was such an exceptional time for me. It was amazing to be in a movie on such a massive scale and it has been one of the best experiences I've ever had."
