    A brush fire is now under control near Interstate 35 Eariir today fire officials shut down traffic from University Drive to the I-35 east and west split.
    The fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m.
    Hay bells that caught on fire started the fire, said officer Brian Horn of the Denton Police Department.
    I-35 E's northbound and southbound lanes are closed to all traffic. The service roads are open.
    Power outages caused by strong winds began at about 11:30 a.m. on the NT campus and in Denton, according to Lisa Lemons of Denton Municipal Electric.
    Sparks were seen shooting from power lines, caused by strong winds.
    NT Daily reporters are also in Sanger and Paradise checking on reported fires in those areas.

    GREAT JOB! The whole staff did an incredible job covering the days events. Way to go convergence team! The quick coverage was great.
