NOD to the beautiful spring weather finally making an appearance. March has seen a wide array of extremes. We've had days where your body covered in sweat within minutes, and then how can we forget Denton winter wonderland a few weeks back? It looks like we may have finally settled into a consistent temperature, and it's about time. But then again, who knows? We may be waking up to snow tomorrow.

SHAKE to NTTV's sensationalist lead story Wednesday evening. The opening NTTV news story claimed there was a large controversy brewing between the Daily and the SGA about information published in an editorial, and frankly, that is false. I spoke with the SGA's director of marketing, promotions and public relations, Shana Gooch, who said she specifically told the NTTV reporter there is no anger between the SGA and the Daily. NTTV's story made something out of nothing, including broadcasting an interview with Gooch where she spoke about the elections, not about any sort of controversy supposedly brewing. Plus, the reporter who interviewed our editor in chief Aaron Bracamontes is a member of the SGA, which is an obvious conflict of interest. But then again, Bracamontes' segment didn't run because of technical difficulties. Journalism is about reporting facts, not about creating controversy that does not exist.

NOD to an SGA senator speaking up about making the student body better at Wednesday night's SGA meeting. Senator Paige Rutledge reminded the group it should be discussing ways of making the student body better, not nitpicking its own organization. Hopefully this mindset is spreading, as the SGA can really help students get their voices heard about issues that seriously matter around campus.

SHAKE to the Student Government Association announcing a revote for the 2009 presidential elections. A revote is far too extreme a move, even with bylaws being violated by both parties. I'm sorry, but having posters placed too closely to general access labs does not warrant a move that could potentially lessen student participation. The Election Board needs to think over this decision and the consequences it could bring for the student body.

NOD to famous retired NHL goaltender Patrick Roy reminding us all why hockey is entertaining: the ridiculous fights. Roy's son pummeled an opposing player during a game last week and was suspended for seven games. Coach and father Patrick Roy was also suspended for what the league defines as "prejudicial conduct." This is just another reminder why casual fans watch hockey; the players always find some sort of ridiculous thing to scuff over.

SHAKE to Hillary Clinton "misspeaking" about her trip to Bosnia 12 years ago, wherein she said she was under sniper fire as she got out of the plane. The truth couldn't be more different: video shows her chatting with officials, hugging children and walking next to soldiers. It looks like a pretty placid situation to me. Hillary, admit you lied and move on. No need to try and use your husband's ways of word manipulation, you aren't nearly as talented.

The Daily's condemnation of NTTV being sensationalist and trying to create controversy that doesn't exist seems to be a case of the pot calling the kettle black, don't you think?

Jeers to the Daily for thinking that the Election Board is doing anything less than trying to ensure the students voice is correctly heard. If you don't want a re-vote, then I say we disqualify that Kline dude for not only one but TWO disqualifying offenses!!!

As somebody who knows hair styles, I don't think you should be shaking that Pete Rose bowl of yours at NTTV considering that the Daily makes its living on controversy. (Continued…)

Also, my fellow hockey expert, Luddy would be disgusted at your horrible mispronunciation of the last name, Roy. Of course, if you are talking about Buffalo Sabres great, Derek Roy, your pronunciation would be correct. (Continued…)
