DENTON, TX (KNTU) The College of Engineering at the University of North Texas has found its new dean. Dr. Costas Tsatsoulis is currently serving as the dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Kansas. He was selected from a large number of candidates based on many of his qualifications. UNT's Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Doctor Windy K Wilkins says one of his most important qualities is his ability to work with other departments in a large university.
"He understands what a large public university is like, so he's a very good fit with the kind of institution that UNT is," Wilkins said. She iterated that UNT was looking for someone to help grow the size of the relativly new department. Oscar Garcia, founding dean of the college, stepped down in May to spend more time on teaching and reasearch. Tsatsoulis will begin as dean August first.
