They will, they will rock you.

But they want you to rock with them, too.

They are Hope's P!nk Sweater, a group of NT students who only play "Rock Band," a video game in which players can imitate playing real instruments to popular songs.

What began as an off-the-cuff remark eventually blossomed into a reality.

"A number of us got together and jammed on real instruments," radio, television and film sophomore Joey Conant said. "Afterwards, we just thought 'What if we started a band?'"

The band, whose name came about after seeing a resident assistant's clothing, includes the exclamation point in all its promotional material.

"We feel our togetherness deserves more than a generic name," Conant said.

But that excitement did not reach its apex until a competition at Clark Hall prompted the current incarnation of the band.

Conant said the band came together at a "Rock Band" competition in January, even though they didn't play together originally.

"We all played in other groups but came together at the end," Conant said. "We were the all-star band."

The events of that night sparked the interest that led the group to continue their endeavors.

"We were really excited to have our own band," radio, television and film senior Ryan Stout said. "We know what each other thinks."

In addition, the band has a wide roster, and each band member has at least some experience on each instrument. This allows for them to rotate during shows, and, if a member cannot make an event, others can fill in for him.

This came in handy when radio, television and film junior Joel Morales was unable to make a performance.
