In the first of two games this weekend, the NT soccer team tied the University of South Alabama in double-overtime on Friday.
Freshman forward Kelsey Perlman lead the Mean Green with two goals in the double-overtime tie game against the Jaguars.
South Alabama jumped out to an early lead with a goal in the 12th minute when Sam Slover scored off of a corner kick, and Brandi Smith followed suit in the 18th minute to extend South Alabama's lead to 2-0.
In the 22nd minute, Perlman answered back and took a shot from 30 yards out. Senior midfielder Gennifer Hurst tied the game at 2-2 five minutes later off of corner kick pass.
The game remained tied until the 34th minute when Perlman chipped a shot over the Jaguars' goalie's head. The final goal came in the 75th minute off of the foot of the Jaguars' Landi Wilson, tying the game at 3-3 and sending it into overtime.
Neither team was able to score again for the remainder of the game, so it ended in a tie after two overtimes.
