The NT provost's office has formed a committee to search for a new dean of libraries and dean of the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies.
Michael Monticino, associate dean of administrative affairs in the College of Arts and Sciences, became interim dean of the Toulouse School after Sandra Terrell was promoted to vice provost for academic outreach. Both have been in place since Jan. 1.
Dean of the College of Business Administration Finley Graves and Dean of the College of Engineering Costas Tsatsoulis will head the search committee. While the committee is formed, searching has yet to begin, Tsatsoulis said.
"It's a little bit late in the hiring season, so conceivably, there could be someone in by fall 2009," Monticino said. "That might be aggressive, but I'll be here until it's filled."
Monticino said he is looking to improve the salary structure and expand research opportunities for graduate students during his time as interim dean.
"I'm really looking forward to a new graduate dean coming in and, in my vice provost position, having the opportunity to work with that new person as well as all the other deans on the campus," Terrell said.
A search committee previously formed out of the provost's office to find candidates to fill the seat of libraries Dean Donald Grose, who is retiring effective Aug. 31, 2009, assistant Sandra Atchison said.
Wendy Wilkins, provost and vice president of academic affairs, was unavailable for comment at press time.
